Music develops focused listening, coachability, self-reflection, planning, pacing, public presenting, and other skills essential for healthy student development.

An in-home music lesson with a private teacher is the best method of music education for most families.

  • One-on-one lessons maximize individualized instruction time.
  • Private, in-home practices save time and eliminate unnecessary fees and middlemen.

Expectations:

  • Students schedule a recurring, weekly lesson time for 30 minutes, 45 minutes, or 1 hour.
  • Payments are paid per lesson and due every lesson. Cancellations for vacations and other reasons are usually flexible with advanced notice. There is no charge for cancelled lessons. Rescheduling is encouraged.
  • Students aged 4 and up may begin private lessons. Students are encouraged to begin music lessons as early in their development as possible.
  • Students create one in-home video project every winter. This project is created during normally scheduled lesson times.
  • Students perform one in-person recital every spring in Hinsdale, Illinois.
  • Students maintain a binder as a physical portfolio of compositions, achievement certificates, etc.
  • Students maintain a usb drive as a digital portfolio of photos, videos, etc.
